Young Dagestani wrestler Ibragim Kadiev today reached the final of the Russian Championship for the first time in his career. Before that he only wrestled in the Russian U20 Championship and is the reigning U20 World Champion.
Kadiev started his performances with 1/16 finals, where he defeated Alan Naifonov with the score 0:13. In 1/8 finals Ibrahim's opponent was the reigning champion of this weight - Arslan Bagaev. But this fact did not affect Ibrahim's motivation - to defeat all the leaders today.
Kadiev defeated Arslan with the score 4-1.
In 1/4 finals Ibrahim's opponent was already acting world champion in weight 79 kg - Akhmed Usmanov, whom he defeated with the score 8:7.
In the semifinals the opponent of today's hero was the most experienced athlete, the champion of Russia 92 kg - Vladislav Valiev, whom he did not notice and won 11:0.
The young and talented athlete left all the leaders of this weight without a chance to get to Paris. He did his best to get into the Olympic lineup, but there is still in reserve Artur Naifonov, who is exempted from the championship due to surgery.
Tomorrow Kadiev will have his final bout against Malik Shavaev.
