On August 5, the wrestling competitions at the Olympic Games began in Paris. The semi-final fights of the first day have already taken place, where the finalists in the weight categories up to 60, 130 kg in Greco-Roman and 68 kg in women's wrestling have become known.
The tournament saw many interesting and sensational events. One of them was the outstanding performance of the American athlete Amita Elora, who reached the final of the Olympic Games in wrestling in the weight category up to 68 kg. Amita is only 20 years old, but she has already become a two-time world champion in the weight category up to 72 kg.
In the semi-finals, she easily defeated the representative of the DPRK, Sol Pak, with a score of 10:0. On her way to the semi-finals, Amita defeated the current world champion from Turkey, Buse Tosun, 10:0 in the 1/8 finals, and in the 1/4 finals, she defeated the Polish wrestler, Viktoria Holuj, 8:0.
On the other side of the net, the athlete from Kyrgyzstan, Merim Zhumanazarova, made it to the finals. The current medalist of the Tokyo Olympic Games, in the semi-finals, defeated the representative of Nigeria, Blessing Oborudu, with character and also reached the finals.
