On 4 May in Stockholm semifinal bouts among juniors at the European Wushu Championship 2024 took place. 4 athletes out of 5 participating athletes made it to the finals in the Armenian national team.
Gevorg Baghdasaryan (52 kg) made it to the final of the European Wushu-Sanda Championship (under 17 category).
In the course of the tournament Gevorg defeated representatives of Romania and Portugal, and in the final he will fight against Azerbaijan's Elchin Muradov.
Aghvan Magoyan (56kg) defeated Sweden's Alexander Segerdal and qualified for the finals of the European Wushu Championship 2024 in the Wushu-Sanda category among boys under 17. In the final Agvan will fight against Ukrainian Vyacheslav Makhazynsky.
Davit Baghdasaryan (65 kg) defeated the representative of Turkey Ozgur Guler and made it to the final of the European Wushu Championship 2024 in the category Wushu-Sanda among boys under 17 years old. In the final Davit will fight against Azerbaijan's Hamza Rasulzadeh.
Grigor Tonikyan (80 kg) defeated Ivan Gasparic of Croatia and qualified for the final of the European Wushu Championships 2024 in the Wushu-Sanda category among boys under 17. In the final, Grigor will fight against Andrei Mihai of Romania.
In addition, Jirayr Petrosyan (60kg) made it to the finals in the Light-Sanda category among adults. In the final, Jirayr will fight against Romanian.
Later today the adult athletes will have their semi-final bouts. From Armenia, Arsen Bagryan (60kg) Davit Vardanyan (65kg) and Hovhannes Smbatyan (+90kg) will compete in the semi-finals.
