Recently, on May 12th, the last Olympic wrestling license tournament ended, where all participants of the Olympic Games 2024 in Paris became known.
In all weight categories there are famous and strong wrestlers who will tear each other for the Olympic gold. In the weight category up to 57 kg there will be no less strong competition.
At the last Olympic Games the winner in the weight category up to 57 kg became a wrestler from Russia - Zavur Uguyev, who should perform and this time, but it is not yet certain, as the Russian Wrestling Federation has not yet given a definite answer.
If to compare Zavur in 2021 and 2024 - it is possible to say with certainty, that with each year at it more or less worsens results, especially it became visible after the World Championship 2023, but if to look result of Zavur on the pre-Olympic championship of Russia - such hardly think, as on that tournament Zavur has shown itself on a high level, becoming the champion of Russia, but in weight category to 61 kg, and the champion of 57 kg became - Ahmed Idrisov. Now Zavur and Ahmed will have a qualifying bout before the Olympic Games, where it will be decided who will go to Paris as part of Russia.
One of the leaders in this weight class is Stevan Micic (Serbia), who showed his best side at the 2023 World Wrestling Championships, defeating the reigning Olympic champion Zavur Uguyev, and in the final defeated the Japanese strongman Rei Higuchi.
Another of the main leaders in this weight category is Arsen Harutyunyan (Armenia), who has been consistently showing high results for several years, and is getting better and better every year.
