Today, June 9, was the final day of the international wrestling tournament named after 'Pole Imre & Varga Janosz - 2024', where the wrestler of Armenian origin, playing for the national team of Bulgaria - Hayk Mnatsakanyan started his performance and won the silver medal in the weight category up to 77 kg.
On his way to the finals Hayk managed to defeat the Turk - Burhan Akbudak, World Champion (2022) and European Champion (2023), and with this he showed that he is progressing, and from him we should expect high results at the Olympic Games
In 1/8 finals Ike's opponent was Mahmoud Abdelrahman from Egypt, whom he defeated with the score 1-1.
In 1/4 finals his opponent was Cuban - Yosvani Flores, whom he defeated with the score 3-1.
And in the semifinals his opponent was the same Turk - Burhan Akbudak, whom he defeated with a score of 1-1.
But in the final, unfortunately, he failed to fight with the Japanese - Nao Kusaki. At the beginning of the bout Ike's hand was very sore, because of which he refused to fight and automatically took the 2nd place in the tournament.
Not always the points scored show the strength of the wrestler. This is where cunning and tactics work especially: try to make it so that the opponent was given a warning at the end and +1 point to you, have such a good physics to be able to withstand the whole half, and in the second half attack the opponent and prove to the referee that he is avoiding the fight. Let's see Ike at full strength in the Olympics.
