The newcomers of the Armenian national football team - Valencia defender Andranik Hakobyan and Noah midfielder Gor Manvelyan had their first training session under the guidance of Alexander Petrakov in the Armenian national team.
Young footballers shared their impressions of being invited to the main team of the country.
Valencia youth team player Andranik Hakobyan:
‘I am very happy to be invited to the Armenian national team. My family was happy about it, we had unforgettable emotions when we saw the invitation from Alexander Petrakov. The first training session in the national team turned out to be very good. I was received very well. There are also players who speak Spanish,’ said Andranik Hakobyan (he himself gave an interview in Armenian).
Andranik was born in Spain, he is a pupil of Elche and now plays for Valencia.
Gor Manvelyan, a Nantes pupil who now plays for Noah, said:
‘I am happy to have been called up to the national team. It was my dream to play for the Armenian national team. I will do my best to get a foothold in the squad. So far we are carrying out recovery works. In the near future we will watch the video of our opponents‘ matches and prepare for them,’ Gor Manvelyan said.
Gor Manvelyan was born in Stepanakert, but at the age of 5 he moved to France with his family, he is a pupil of Nantes and moved to Yerevan Noa in the summer of 2023.
The Armenian national team had its first training session today before the matches against Slovenia in Ljubljana on 4 June and against Kazakhstan in Yerevan on 7 June.
