On 24 May, a sports forum of CIS countries was held in Gyumri. During the meeting, Armenia was offered to host the CIS Games 2027. However, representatives of the Armenian delegations refused to do so, citing a busy schedule in 2027.
At the forum in Gyumri Deputy Minister Karen Giloyan noted that Armenia has a very busy schedule of sporting events in 2027, the European Gymnastics Championship, World Weightlifting Championship, Francophone Games 2027 and Pan-Armenian Games 2027 will be held.
However, Karen Giloyan added that Armenia is ready to host the CIS Games in 2029.
