The 2024 Paris Olympic Games will be a significant event not only for the Armenian national team but also for the Armenian diaspora worldwide. This year, 11 athletes and 2 coaches of Armenian origin representing various countries will participate in the Olympics.
Athletes of Armenian origin
Aram Vardanyan (Uzbekistan) - Greco-Roman wrestling (77 kg)
Aram Vardanyan will represent Uzbekistan in Greco-Roman wrestling in the 77 kg weight category. He is the cousin of MMA fighter Eduard Vartanyan.
Hayk Mnatsakanian (Bulgaria) - Greco-Roman wrestling (77 kg)
Hayk Mnatsakanyan, competing for Bulgaria, will also participate in Greco-Roman wrestling in the same weight category. Hayk is originally from Akhalkalaki, Georgia. It is worth noting that Malkhas Amoyan, representing Armenia, will also compete in this weight class. Thus, theoretically, Armenians can take three prize places in the 77 kg weight category in Greco-Roman wrestling.
Nikolay Terteryan (Denmark) - boxing (71 kg)
In boxing, in the 71 kg weight category, Nikolay Terteryan will represent Denmark. He is a very talented young boxer and is considered a rising star in amateur boxing. Before the Olympics, he won the 2023 European Games, where he secured his quota.
Gor Minasyan (Bahrain) - weightlifting (+102 kg)
Gor Minasyan, representing Bahrain in weightlifting in the over 102 kg category, is one of the strongest athletes in his category. Previously, he competed for Armenia, but after the qualification rules changed, only one athlete from one country could compete in one weight category. Therefore, it was decided to leave the younger Varazdat Lalayan and Simon Martirosyan in the Armenian team, and Gor began to compete for Bahrain. In Paris, Minasyan and Lalayan will compete for medals against Georgian Lasha Talakhadze.
Alain Aprahamian (Uruguay) - judo (81 kg)
Alain Aprahamyan will represent Uruguay in judo in the 81 kg weight category. For the experienced 36-year-old judoka, this will be his second Olympics.
Aram Grigorian (UAE) - judo (90 kg)
Aram Grigoryan, representing the United Arab Emirates, will compete in judo in the 90 kg weight category. He changed his sports citizenship in 2022. Previously, he competed for Russia. He was also the 2019 world champion in sambo.
Eduard Trippel (Germany) - judo (90 kg)
Eduard Trippel, whose Armenian roots come from his father's side, will represent Germany in the 90 kg weight category in judo. He is the silver medalist of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Alina Oganesyan (Germany) - rhythmic gymnastics
Alina Oganesyan, representing Germany, will compete in rhythmic gymnastics. The 20-year-old Armenian will participate in the team program.
Marcela Arounian (Brazil) - handball

Hadley Housisian (USA) - fencing

Adam Krikorian, head coach of the USA women's water polo team, has already led his team to numerous victories in international tournaments.

Brian Goorjian (Australia) - head coach of the Australian men's basketball team
Brian Goorjian, who heads the Australian men's basketball team, is one of the most respected coaches in his sport. Under Brian Goorjian's leadership, the Australian team won the bronze medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
