On August 19, the World Greco-Roman Wrestling Championships among boys under 17 began in the capital of Jordan. Today, the final pairs in the weight categories up to 48, 55, 65, 80 and 110 kg were announced.
Armenia is represented by 5 wrestlers, one participant in each weight category. Yurik Mkhitaryan (55 kg) and Narek Grigoryan (65 kg) will fight for bronze medals, while Martin Manzhikyan (48 kg) will have a repechage match for the opportunity to fight for bronze.
Martin Manzhikyan (48 kg) will have his first repechage match against the representative of Russia Nikolay Kristov. In case of victory, he will fight for the bronze medal against the wrestler from Hungary Laszlo Zuromi.
The Iranian and Japanese will have a repechage match, and the winner of this pair will meet Yurik Mkhitaryan (55 kg) in a fight for the bronze medal.
Representatives of Jordan and Moldova will also have a repechage match, and the winner of this match will fight with the representative of Uzbekistan. As a result, the winner of these repechage matches will meet Narek Grigoryan (65 kg) for the bronze medal.
