Today, 9 May, the world Olympic qualification in Greco-Roman wrestling started in Istanbul, where three wrestlers from Armenia took part.
Gevorg Gharibyan (60kg), Gevorg Tadevosyan (87kg) and David Hovasapyan (130kg) were in the Armenian national team. None of them managed to pass to the semi-finals, but Garibyan and Tadevosyan still kept their chances to win the quota through the consolation block, as their rivals passed to the semi-finals and if they win, Garibyan and Tadevosyan will fight in the consolation block, where one winner among bronze medallists will get the quota, there will be a separate fight for the quota. Hovasapyan's opponent, on the other hand, lost in the 1/4 finals.
