Armenian athletes have got an opportunity to hold a training camp in Marseille before the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. The training camp will start on 8 July and will end 3 days before the start of the Olympic Games. A memorandum was signed on this occasion.
On the Armenian side, the memorandum was signed by RA Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Karen Giloyan and Head of the Sport Programmes Implementation Department of the National Olympic Committee Gagik Bolshikyan.
The authors of the initiative are the leadership of the Bush-du-Rhône department headed by Martin Vassal, the chairman of the department's board, as well as the Armenian organisation Vazk Mehti headed by Jirair Grigoryan and Pascal Shamazyan.
According to Deputy Minister of Education and Culture Karen Giloyan, they will also support us to have an "Armenia House" in Paris during the Olympic Games.
The 33rd Summer Olympic Games in Paris will be held from 26 July to 11 August 2024.
Armenia currently has 11 Olympic licences (Artur Davtyan, Vahagn Davtyan, Artur Aleksanyan, Slavik Galstyan, Malkhas Amoyan, Vazgen Tevanyan, Arsen Harutyunyan, Andranik Karapetyan, Garik Karapetyan, Varazdat Lalayan and Elmira Karapetyan).
The next Olympic licensing tournament will start already on May 24 in Thailand, it will be the boxing qualification. Armenia will be represented by 10 boxers.
