Arsen Harutyunyan was born on November 22, 1999 in the city of Masis. It was there that he began his first steps in wrestling at the age of 6 under the guidance of coach Arthur Martoyan. He is currently training at the Yerevan State Olympic Reserve Sports College under the guidance of personal trainer Arshak Hayrapetyan.
Arsen joined the senior Armenian national team in 2019, and in the same year became the European champion, starting a new page in his career.
Following the Tokyo Olympics, this period was an important stage in the career of Arsene, who gained valuable experience and became even stronger in preparation for the World Championships in Oslo, starting in October 2021, where he won his first senior medal.
At the 2021 World Championships in Oslo, Arsen competed in his favorite weight category up to 61 kg. In the 1/8 finals, he started the tournament confidently, defeating wrestler from Kazakhstan Adlan Askarov with a score of 18:10. In the quarter finals, he defeated the wrestler from Bahrain Alibek Alibekov with a score of 8:2. He started the tournament with a confident victory in the qualifying round over the Egyptian with a score of 10:0. In the 1/8 finals, Arsen also confidently defeated the Puerto Rican with a score of 11:0. In the quarter finals he defeated Kazakh Assil Aytakin with a score of 9:3, and in the semifinals he defeated Georgian Ramaz Turmanidze with a score of 13:4.

In 2023, the first significant tournament for Arsen was the European Championship. He traveled to Croatia in search of another victory at continental level.
Arsen started the tournament with the 1/4 finals, where he defeated the Turk Emrah Ormanoglu with a score of 7:0. In the semi-finals, he defeated the Armenian playing for France, Arman Elolyan, with a score of 10:0. In the final, Arsen confidently defeated the Albanian wrestler Zelimkhan Abakarov with a score of 5:2 and again became the European champion.
