Freestyle wrestler from Kaliningrad Arsen Balayan (86 kg) has been included in the Russian youth national team and will go to the European Wrestling Championships 2024 under 23, which will be held in Baku from 20 to 26 May.
The 20-year-old Armenian recently performed very well at the pre-Olympic Russian Freestyle Wrestling Championships. Balayan reached the semi-finals of the tournament, where he lost to Malik Shavaev.
"God willing, I will win the European Championship, which will be of great importance to me and our nation," the wrestler wrote after learning of his selection to the Russian national team.
