Today, May 3, was the 4th day of the pre-Olympic Russian Freestyle Wrestling Championships. Today the first finalists in all Olympic weight categories will be decided. Arsen Balayan wrestled in the Olympic weight category up to 86 kg.
Arsen started his performances from 1/16, where he defeated Tazhitin Akaev with the score 2:1 (Kaliningrad region). In 1/8 he confidently defeated Chechen athlete Abdulla Tsatsayev. And in 1/4 in a very difficult fight, in the end he increased his advantage and snatched victory from Magomedsharif Biyakaev (Dagestan) with the score 5:1.
His opponent in the semifinals will be Malik Shavaev (Kabardino-Balkaria).
