On the night of July 6-7, an exciting lightweight boxing match took place between WBC titleholder Shakur Stevenson (21-0) and title contender Artem Harutyunyan (12-1). The fight was held at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
This bout was the main event of a major TopRank boxing evening and lasted the full 12 rounds. Before the fight, Artem Harutyunyan was considered a clear underdog, and many believed he wouldn't make it to the judges' decision. However, Artem put on a very quality performance, but it wasn't enough to secure the victory.
Shakur Stevenson defeated Artem Harutyunyan by unanimous decision. The scores were 112-116, 110-118, and 109-119 in favor of Stevenson.
After the fight, Artem Harutyunyan said:
