Tomorrow, 24 May, the European Championship-U23 (2024) on freestyle wrestling will start in Baku. The draw for the tournament has already taken place. At the championship in Azerbaijan the Armenian national team will not participate because of political reasons, but there are wrestlers of Armenian origin in the national teams of Russia and Belarus, who went to Baku.
Arsen Balayan in the weight category up to 79kg will perform in the national team of Russia at the European U23 Championship. And Herbert Hakobyan will represent Belarus in the weight category up to 57kg.
Herbert Hakobyan (57 kg) will start his performances at the stage of 1/4 finals. His first opponent is Muhammet Karavus from Turkey.
Arsen Balayan (79 kg) will start from 1/8 finals, where he will fight against Georgian Otari Adeishvili.
