On August 6th, at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, boxing matches took place in four weight categories. Semifinal bouts were held in three weights, and in the women's 60 kg weight category, the final took place, determining the first Olympic boxing champion of 2024.
In the final of the women's 60 kg weight category, Chinese Yang Wenlu and Irish Kellie Harrington competed.
34-year-old Kellie Harrington won the final by split decision 4-1, becoming a two-time Olympic champion.

The final will take place on August 9.
The scandalously famous Algerian, Imane Khelif, confidently defeated the Thai boxer and advanced to the final. Previously, Khelif was called transgender, and there were demands for her removal from women's boxing. However, her parents and the Algerian Boxing Federation provided all the evidence that Imane Khelif was born female, and she simply has elevated testosterone levels. Moreover, she has been competing in world boxing championships since a very young age. Therefore, her participation in the Olympics is no longer in doubt, although the sad trace of slander against her still remains.
In the final, Imane will face the Chinese boxer Yang Liu, who also appears quite masculine.
