On July 18, Thailand hosted the Asian Freestyle Wrestling Championship in the under-15 age category. All bouts, including finals, were held during one day, where all tournament winners in all weight categories were determined.
The Japanese team demonstrated a high level of preparation, winning 6 out of 10 gold medals and taking first place in the team standings. The second and third places went to India and Iran respectively.
