On June 23, the 2024 European Weightlifting Championships for boys and girls under 17 years old concluded in Thessaloniki, Greece.
The Armenian men's team won 18 medals (6 gold, 4 silver, 8 bronze) and took first place in the team standings. Valerik Movsisyan (89 kg) became a two-time European U17 champion, while Hovhannes Hovhannisyan (61) won European gold for the first time.
The Armenian women's team won 6 medals (1 silver, 5 bronze) and placed 11th.
