On August 11, the Olympic Wrestling Games ended, where all the medalists of the tournament were announced. We witnessed the competitions, where many interesting and sensational things happened.
One of the most striking events was the performance of Kazakhstani Greco-Roman wrestler Demeu Zhadrayev in the weight category up to 77 kg. He defeated two main favorites of the Olympic Games. On the way to the final, he defeated the current finalists of the World Championship: Kyrgyz Akzhol Makhmudov and Azerbaijani Sanan Suleimanov. However, in the final, Demeu Zhadrayev lost to Japanese Nao Kusaka and took second place at the Olympic Games.
The highest prize money in the region awaited the Kazakh Olympians - from 75 thousand dollars for bronze to 250 thousand for gold. A separate ceremony was held for the Olympic silver medalist in Greco-Roman wrestling Demeu Zhadrayev. In his hometown of Zharkent, local entrepreneurs and businessmen presented the wrestler with generous gifts: a Toyota Land Cruiser 300 SUV, a house in Zharkent, an apartment in Almaty, and a cash reward of $50,000. In addition, the athlete was presented with a horse. Zhadrayev's mentors were also not ignored. His first coach Zhumakhan Turganbekov and personal coach Boranbek Konyratov received Haval cars as a gift. The Panfilov District Administration awarded Zhadrayev the title of "Honorary Resident of the Zhetysu Region", and his mother, Kulipa Bizhanova, was presented with a house, also in Zharkent.
