The sixth day of wrestling competitions at the 2024 Olympic Games took place in Paris on August 10. The final pairs in the 65 kg and 97 kg freestyle wrestling weight categories have already been determined.
The semi-final match in the 97 kg weight category featured Olympic champion and three-time world champion from the USA Kyle Snyder and world and Asian champion, 21-year-old Dagestani wrestler representing Bahrain, Akhmed Tazhudinov. In a tough fight for a place in the finals, the Dagestani wrestler won, defeating his opponent with a score of 6:4. Thus, Akhmed Tazhudinov will have the opportunity to fight for the Olympic gold medal for the first time in his career.
Akhmed is one of the youngest participants in the Olympic Games.
In the final, he will wrestle against Georgian Givi Macharashvili.
