Boxer representing Armenia David Avanesyan (30-4-1) has become an official challenger for the EBU welterweight title.
The 35-year-old Armenian from Pyatigorsk is scheduled to fight undefeated Frenchman Jordy Weiss (32-0-1), who won the title after Avanesyan's withdrawal.
The date and place of the fight will be known by May 6.
David Avanesyan was EBU champion from 2019 to 2022 before relinquishing the title to fight Terence Crawford.
