At the LFA 186 tournament held in Denver, 19-year-old MMA fighter from Rostov-on-Don, David Mgoyan (4-0), successfully debuted on the American stage, securing a victory over American AJ Robb (6-4) by technical knockout in the first round.
Mgoyan took the initiative from the first seconds of the fight, demonstrating confident actions both in stand-up and on the ground. After several accurate strikes, he performed multiple takedowns, bringing the fight to the ground. Each throw was accompanied by powerful work with his fists and elbows, resulting in a serious cut on his opponent. Both fighters were quickly covered in AJ Robb's blood, but this did not stop David, who continued to apply pressure.
Despite Robb's attempts to regain control of the fight, he was unable to effectively defend against Mgoyan's powerful attacks. David continued to land strikes even in the stand-up, where AJ was clearly outmatched. With 30 seconds left in the first round, the referee decided to stop the fight, protecting the fighter from further damage.
David Mgoyan is of Yazidi nationality, but his parents are from Armenia, so he raises two flags - the Armenian and the Yazidi. In our previous interview, he spoke about his acquaintance with Arman Tsarukyan and his desire to compete in the UFC.
