David Chaloyan (+92 kg) confidently defeated Iranian Ruzbeh Safari by unanimous decision at the Olympic qualification in Bangkok. He won all three rounds of the fight.
Thus, Chaloyan earned the right to fight in the final bout for the Olympic quota.
Chaloyan's opponent in the final tomorrow will be the very strong Irishman Martin McDonagh, who today defeated Bulgarian Petar Belberov 5-0.
It should be noted that today Rafael Hovhannisyan (80 kg) will also fight for a quota. Meanwhile, Armenian representative Ekaterina Sycheva (54 kg) lost to Hungarian Hanna Lakotara with a score of 0-4.
In total, three boxers from the Armenian national team will fight for the Olympic quota: Ani Hovsepyan (66 kg), Rafael Hovhannisyan (80 kg), and David Chaloyan (+92 kg).
