Today, on 3 May, the 19th European Wushu Championship 2024 started in Stockholm (Sweden), in which Armenian athletes are also participating.
From Armenia at the tournament participate: Artashes Avagyan (Taolu), Gevorg Yeritsyan (Taolu), Vahan Mkrtchyan (Wushu-Sanda, 40 kg), Davit Isakhanyan (Wushu-Sanda, 56 kg), Arsen Baghryan (Wushu-Sanda, 60 kg), Davit Vardanyan (Wushu-Sanda, 65 kg), Hovhannes Smbatyan (Wushu-Sanda, +90 kg), Zhirair Petrosyan (Light-Sanda, 60 kg), as well as juniors: Aghvan Magoyan (Wushu-Sanda, 56kg), Yash Mnatsakanyan (Wushu-Sanda, 60kg), Davit Baghdasaryan (Wushu-Sanda, 65kg), Grigor Tonikyan (Wushu-Sanda, 80kg), Gevorg Baghdasaryan (Light-Sanda, 52kg).
On the first day of the tournament the representative of Armenia Davit Vardanyan made a beautiful early victory against Azerbaijan's Elchin Eminov and reached the semi-finals, where he will fight against the Swede.
