Captain of the Georgian national boxing team Lasha Guruli expressed his protest against the refereeing at the European Championships 2024. Guruli refused to fight after the 2nd round of the final fight. The judges gave both rounds to Russian Tarkhan Idigov, but Lasha did not agree with this.
It should be reminded that it was Idigov who fought against Ararat Arutyunyan in the semi-final, after which Ararat also expressed his dissatisfaction with the refereeing.

"Because of many internal and external conditions, I decided to comment on this fact. One thing I will say is that we were offered a lot of money the day before the fight. They didn't want me in the ring. After getting a NO answer, they said I wasn't going to win anyway.
After the second round, when the judges put 0-5 in favour of the Russian, everything became clear to me. So I decided to walk out.
My protest is completely against the organisation. After the Olympics I will tell everything, it's time to change this sport," - wrote the Georgian boxer.
Recall that Narek Manasyan also did not go to the final against Russian Muslim Gadzhimagomedov. But the reason for his non-participation in the final is unknown.
