Two-time Olympic freestyle wrestling champion Mavlet Batyrov will be inducted into the UWW Hall of Fame. The legendary Dagestani wrestler gained great fame during his career with two consecutive Olympic victories (2004, 2008). In addition, he became world champion (2007) and European champion (2006).
Earlier Ali Aliyev, Zagalav Abdulbekov, Vladimir Yumin and Buvaisar Saitiev received this honor.
The ceremony of induction of the new laureates into the UWW Hall of Fame will be held in Paris on August 5, the day of the start of the Olympic wrestling tournament.
