Representative of the Armenian Olympic team, Elmira Karapetyan, has already arrived in Paris and will take part in the Olympic torch relay tomorrow. This significant moment will be an important step for her on the way to the 2024 Olympic Games, where she will compete in the 10-meter air pistol shooting event.
Elmira will start her performances in Paris on the very first day of the Games – July 27.
Meanwhile, the Olympic flame has already arrived in Paris. The first to run with the torch through the capital was Thierry Henry, the head coach of France's Olympic football team. This event has become an important stage in the preparation for the Games and is expected to attract the attention of Parisian residents.
The Olympic torch relay began with the traditional military parade held annually on Bastille Day, after which the torch started its journey through the city, beginning at the Champs-Elysees. One of the first to carry the torch was Thierry Henry, who received this honor on Paris's most famous avenue. The relay route will later pass through iconic landmarks such as the parliament and Notre Dame cathedral.
"It's not something you can turn down, especially on our national day, on the Champs-Elysees, on the eve of the Paris Olympics," Henry told reporters about his participation in the relay. "It's just extraordinary."
