The toughest fight of undefeated Erik Bazinyan's (32-0-1) career against Shaquille Phinn (26-3-2) took place on 3 May in Montreal.
In this fight, the number one and number two ranked fighters in Canada and both from Quebec met. They had a great fight in front of their fans.
Undefeated Armenian boxer Erik Bazinyan met the strongest opposition and barely survived. The first round was won by Bazinyan, then the initiative went to Finn, who took all rounds from 2 to 5. After that Bazinyan started to hit more accurately and won round after round. However, the last round was left for Shaquille. One judge gave the victory to Bazinyan, the second to Phinn , and the third judge gave it a draw.
THE RESULT WAS A DRAW (93-97, 96-94, 95-95). The first draw in Bazinyan's career and the second in Finn's career. According to the results of this fight the NABF Super middle championship belt remained with Eric Bazinyan.
