The football club "Syunik" from Kapan has refused to participate in the Armenian Premier League and will compete in the First League.
FC "Syunik", despite receiving a license from the FFA to participate in the 2024/25 season of the Armenian Premier League, has decided to compete in the First League. This year, the club took second place in the First League.
Considering the fact that the team could not win the First League championship title, as well as the fact that the "Lernagorts" stadium in Kapan does not meet the Premier League standards, the club has made a principled decision to hold home matches exclusively in their home region, emphasizing the development of football in this area. Therefore, the club has decided to compete in the Armenian First League for another year.
The management of FC "Syunik" has set the goal for the team to finish the next season in first place and move to the Premier League with gold medals, - the club said in a statement.
It should be noted that the champion of the First League was another club from Kapan, "Gandzasar", which will compete in the Premier League and hold home matches in the city of Vayk.
