On June 28, the European U17 Freestyle Wrestling Championship started in Novi Sad, Serbia. On the first day, 5 athletes from Armenia competed. One wrestler reached the final, and four others retained chances for bronze.
Gagik Ghazaryan (55 kg) defeated Bulgarian Esad Bozali in the semifinal with a score of 10:0. In the final, Kazaryan will compete against Baisangur Osmaev (Russia).

Also, tomorrow Armenia will have three matches for bronze: Armen Papikyan (48 kg), Yegishe Mosesyan (65 kg), and Saak Oganesyan (80 kg).
Andranik Jakhetian (110 kg) will try to fight for bronze through the repechage matches.
On June 29, the rest of the Armenian wrestlers in other weight categories will start their performances:
- 45 kg - Artak Akhabekyan
- 51 kg - Ashot Gyulnazaryan
- 60 kg - David Davtyan
- 71 kg - Narek Oganesyan
- 92 kg - Narek Ikilikyan
