Today, on August 4, two Armenian gymnasts, Artur Davtyan and Vahagn Davtyan, will compete in the final of the 2024 Olympic Games. Before the final, the President of the Gymnastics Federation of Armenia, Gagik Vanoyan, wrote a letter to both gymnasts.
The gymnastics final starts at 17:00 Yerevan time. Artur Davtyan will compete in the vault final, and Vahagn Davtyan in the rings final.
Gagik Vanoyan's message to Artur Davtyan:
“Dear Artur, today, before the final, a few hours before your performance, I want to address you.
First of all, I want to express my gratitude to your parents for raising such a wonderful person, a patriot of his work. Thank you for the wonderful years you dedicated to gymnastics, not giving up despite the difficult training conditions. You did not retreat; you became stronger, fought every day and every hour, fought without complaints, and fought for every victory. I am immensely proud of all your achievements, from international tournaments to European and World Championships, to Olympic bronze.
Artur, we all know how important this day is for you, as you are one of the most likely candidates for victory. But regardless of the result of this final, my brother, you have walked the path of sporting glory with honor and have already inscribed your name, Artur Davtyan, in golden letters in the annals of domestic and world sports.
Thank you for all the happy moments you gave us. I am sure there are many more victories ahead of us!”
Gagik Vanoyan's message to Vahagn Davtyan:
“Hard work, only great hard work, can bring the most cherished dreams to life, and we have seen this through the example of Vahagn. Dear friend, today you will perform in the final of the Olympic Games. I want to wish you success and express my gratitude for your huge contribution to the development of Armenian gymnastics. You are an example for young people, showing that no matter how unattainable a dream may seem, through love and hard work, it is possible to make it come true. Thank you, brother!”
