The goalkeeper of Yerevan’s “Pyunik,” Henri Avagyan, spoke with Legalbet.kz about the tactics of the match and how they managed to secure a victory following the third qualifying round match of the Conference League against Kazakhstan’s “Ordabasy.”
“We understood that it would be a very difficult away match. Considering the fact that the opponent would attack a lot, we tried to minimize close-range shots on our goal, and most of the shots came from a distance.
I wouldn’t say that Ordabasy dominated the game. Yes, they controlled the ball, but after conceding the goal, their attacks became less effective. By the end of the second half, they were no longer thinking about winning but rather aiming to secure a draw,” said Henri Avagyan to Legalbet.kz correspondent Almat Temirtasov.
Let us recall that Pyunik won the first match against Ordabasy with a score of 1-0 thanks to a goal by Yusuf Otubanjo. The return match will take place on August 15 in Yerevan.
