Armenian boxer in the 71kg weight category Gurgen Madoyan successfully made it to the 1/8 finals of the Olympic qualification in Bangkok. Gurgen is already his third victory at the last chance tournament.
In 1/16 finals Madoyan won very confidently against Canadian Junior Petanqui.

Madoian's next bout will be tomorrow, 29 May, against Moldovan Vasile Cebotari.
Vasile Cebotari has a lot of experience in professional boxing (15-0), but Madoian beat him in his first outing in Italy by unanimous decision.
Madoyan needs two more wins to qualify for the Olympic quota.
