On August 7, the third day of the wrestling competitions at the 2024 Olympic Games continues in Paris. Today, athletes compete in the 67 and 87 kg weight categories in Greco-Roman wrestling, as well as 53 kg in women's wrestling.
In the 1/4 finals of the 67 kg weight category, two strong athletes met: Iranian Said Morad Esmaeili and the current Olympic champion Cuban Luis Horta Sanchez. The Iranian unexpectedly won an early victory, knocking the Cuban out of the fight for the Olympic gold medal with a score of 9:0. The Cuban did not have time to prove himself in this fight.
In the semi-finals, Said Morad Esmaeili will meet Armenian athlete Slavik Galstyan.
