The Olympic world license tournament in freestyle wrestling ended in Istanbul. This was the last license tournament and now all participants of the Olympic Games 2024 in Paris in freestyle wrestling discipline are known.
At the final tournament three quotas were drawn in each weight category, after which the full composition of the participants of the Olympic Games 2024 became known, in which 16 wrestlers will compete in each weight - one from each country. With the exception of the 74kg weight class, which will feature an additional wrestler from the refugee team, it will be 29-year-old Iranian Imam Mahdavi, who fled the country in 2020 and settled in Italy.
The following wrestlers received licenses at the world license tournament in Istanbul:
Under 57kg: Spencer Lee (USA), Aman Aman (India) and Wanhao Zou (China)
Up to 65 kg: Islam Dudaev (Albania), Timur Ochir Tulga (Mongolia) and Zane Retherford (USA).
Under 74kg: Victor Rassadin (Tajikistan), Taimuraz Salkazanov (Slovakia) and Chermen Valiev (Albania).
Up to 86kg: Dauren Kurgliev (Greece), Magomed Ramazanov (Bulgaria) and Vladimir Gamkrelidze (Georgia).
Under 97kg: Eric Thiele (Germany), Zbigniew Baranowski (Poland) and Avusaiman Habila (China).
Under 125kg: Ayaal Lazarev (Kyrgyzstan), Zhiwei Deng (China) and Daniel Ligeti (Hungary).
