Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Armenia Karen Giloyan summarised the results of the UEFA Futsal Champions League Final Four held in Yerevan.
The Government of the Republic of Armenia allocated about 280 million drams for holding the final tournament of the UEFA Futsal Champions League. Another AMD 116 million was allocated to the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concert Complex for the purpose of partial reconstruction of the building and related services.
"Most of the allocated state funds were directed to the purchase of inventory and improvement of infrastructure. Works are underway to show Yerevan and Armenia to the world, to popularise our country. The positive emotions conveyed by these events are also extremely important.
We can confidently say that it was a successful event and the investments of the RA Government were fully justified. The presence of more than 5000 spectators in the stands was a proof that there is a desire for a large-scale tournament in Armenia, especially in sports. The final was fantastically interesting. It was especially gratifying that Luan Muller, the goalkeeper of the Armenian national team, made an important contribution to Palma's championship, and after the game he went on the field wearing the Armenian tricolour," Karen Giloyan said.
To remind, Palma defeated Barcelona 5-1 in the final and won the UEFA Champions League for the second time in a row.
