The second day of the 2024 Olympic Wrestling competition is taking place in Paris on August 6. Today, athletes are competing in the 77 and 97 kg weight categories in Greco-Roman wrestling, as well as 50 kg in women's wrestling.
The semi-final matches are over, and now we know which pairs will fight for medals in the finals in the mentioned weight categories.
Kazakh wrestler Demeu Zhadrayev reached the finals in the 77 kg weight category. In the semi-finals, he defeated the silver medalist of the World Championship and one of the favorites of the Olympic Games, Azerbaijani Sanan Suleymanov. Demeu demonstrated excellent technique, defeating his opponent with a score of 6:1.
Before reaching the semi-finals, Demeu also left another medal contender, the current world champion from Kyrgyzstan, Akzhol Makhmudov, behind.
Tomorrow, he will face Japan's Nao Kusaka in the final.
