The weightlifting competitions have started at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. Medals have already been awarded in three weight categories—61 kg among men and 49 and 59 kg among women. Athletes from China won in all these categories.
In the 61 kg men's category, 31-year-old Li Fabin won, becoming a two-time Olympic champion. In the 49 kg women's category, 27-year-old Hou Zhihui also became a two-time Olympic champion. For 23-year-old Luo Shifan, this was her first Olympics, where she set a new Olympic record and became the champion.
