The Olympic wrestling competitions kicked off in Paris on August 5, and a sensational event took place already during the first bouts.
Moldavian wrestler Victor Ciobanu, world and European champion, unexpectedly dropped out of the race for Olympic gold. In the 1/8 finals, he met with Korean Seung Lee. Many considered the Moldovan wrestler the favorite of this fight, but the Korean had other plans. Seung Lee demonstrated a high class of wrestling, winning a confident victory with a score of 10:3 and going to the 1/4 finals, knocking the world champion out of the tournament.
