On August 6, in Paris, the first medalists of the Olympic Games in Greco-Roman wrestling in the weight categories up to 60 and 130 kg were announced.
In the weight category up to 130 kg, the new Olympic champion was 42-year-old Cuban wrestler Mihane Lopez. In the final fight, he easily defeated his opponent from Chile, Yasmani Acosta, with a score of 6:0. After the fight, Lopez took off his wrestling shoes and left them in the center of the mat, thus announcing the end of his career.
Mikhein Lopez's career was truly glorious: he became the only five-time Olympic champion in wrestling in history (2008, 2012, 2016, 2020 and 2024)
