The representative of the Armenian national team Mayis Nersisyan (64kg) won a gold medal at the European Sambo Championship 2024 in Novi Sad, Serbia. He became the winner of the tournament in combat sambo discipline among adults.
In the final of the tournament in Serbia, the Armenian sambo wrestler defeated Belarus' Evgeny Mikhno (11-0) ahead of schedule. Before the final, Mayis also defeated a Ukrainian and a Lithuanian.

This is the first gold for Armenia at the European Sambo Championship 2024.
