On June 25, the second day of the European Championship among athletes under 17 years old in Greco-Roman wrestling in weight categories up to 45, 51, 60, 71 and 92 kg started in the Serbian city of Novi Sad.
Armenian athletes also took part in the tournament and achieved very good success during this day of the tournament, winning 3 out of 5 tickets to the finals:
Final pairs of Armenian wrestlers:
45kg. Aslanbek Kostoev (Russia) - Marat Atchemyan (Armenia)
51kg: Yuri Mkhitaryan (Armenia) - Turan Dashdamirov (Azerbaijan)
60kg: Alex Margaryan (Armenia) - Aykhan Javadov (Azerbaijan)
Our wrestlers showed excellent results, winning one after another. Artur Amoyan also competed in the semi-finals (in the 71 kg weight category), who, unfortunately, was defeated by a Russian opponent with a score of 3:3 and will fight for the bronze medal tomorrow.
We was especially impressed by the performance of Marat Atchemyan (in the 45 kg weight category), who effectively defeated the Azerbaijani wrestler in the semi-final bout, winning an early victory with a score of 8:0.
