Today, on June 7, at the Republican Stadium in Yerevan, the Armenian national team achieved a long-awaited victory in a friendly match against Kazakhstan with a score of 2-1. This triumph was the first in the last nine matches for the Armenian team.
After the game, defender Nair Tiknizyan shared his impressions and assessed the significance of this victory.
— What are your impressions of the victory, which was the first in 9 matches?
"Honestly, it's hard to believe we had such a series without wins. In all these matches, we looked good, except for the match against North Macedonia when we lost 3-1. I think our team is on the right path, and we need to continue in the same spirit. I am very happy that today we managed to win at home in Yerevan and please the fans."
— How important is this victory ahead of the Nations League?
"This victory will give us and our fans confidence. At home, we must at least not lose."
