The famous Russian gymnast and Olympic champion Nikita Nagornyy congratulated the Armenian gymnast Artur Davtyan on winning an Olympic medal.
Artur Davtyan became the silver medalist of the 2024 Olympic Games in vaulting with a score of 14.966, losing only to Filipino Carlos Yulo (15.166). This was Armenia's first medal at the Olympics in Paris.
The 27-year-old Russian athlete Nikita Nagornyy is well acquainted with Artur Davtyan, as they trained together in Rostov-on-Don.
"Artur Davtyan is a person with whom we grew up in the same gym in Rostov-on-Don. He has had a great sports journey, becoming a world champion in vaulting, a bronze medalist at the Olympics in Tokyo, and today a silver medalist in Paris! Congratulations to Artur," wrote Nagornyy on his Telegram channel.
Nagornyy himself did not participate in the Olympics as the Russian gymnastics team was banned from qualifying tournaments.
