Armenian national team basketball player Connor Essegian has changed teams within the NCAA league. The 20-year-old basketball player signed a contract with the Nebraska Cornhuskers club from the University of Nebraska.
At Winsconsin, Essegian struggled for playing minutes during the 2023/24 season after a significant drop in the rotation, averaging just 7.3 minutes and 3.2 points per game. Nebraska head coach Fred Hoiberg hopes he returns to his first-year form for the 2022/23 season- 27.4 minutes and 11.7 points per game on 40% shooting accuracy and 36% three-point shooting.
Despite a failed last season Connor Essijian was highly sought after in the transfer market. He was also claimed by Maryland, South Carolina and Indiana, but the choice fell on Nebraska.
In 2023, Connor Essegian played two matches for the Armenian national team in a friendly against France, which was held in Los Angeles. He will soon be able to play for the national team again. The Armenian national team will take part in a friendly tournament in Los Angeles in the summer of 2024.
