From April 19 to 21 in the state of Pennsylvania held a qualifying tournament for the U.S. Olympic wrestling team. According to the results of the tournament determined those wrestlers who will go to the Olympic Games 2024 in Paris in those weights, which already had a quota, as well as those wrestlers who will participate in the world qualifying tournament in Istanbul (May 9-12) to get the missing quota.
It is interesting that those athletes who won Olympic quotas for the U.S. also participated in this tournament, and not all of them managed to win their place in the national team. For example, 2023 World Champion David Taylor lost to Aaron Brooks. Brooks will now go to the 2024 Olympic Games. Spencer Woods also lost his spot to Peyton Jacobson, Alan Vera lost in the final to Josef Rau, and Cohlton Schultz lost to Adam Coon.
