MMA fighter Hovhannes Abgaryan, who plays for Russia, became the winner of the 2024 Sambo World Cup, held in Kyrgyzstan.
In the final of the weight category up to 79 kg (combat sambo) Hovhannes Abgaryan defeated Uzbek athlete Jovid Dodoev 4-0.
Two sambo wrestlers participated in the tournament as part of the Armenian national team.
Aram Avanesyan, as part of the Armenian national team, became the silver medalist in combat sambo, up to 98 kg.
