Rafael Hovhannisyan (80 kg) from Armenia won the first fight of the Second World Olympic Licence Tournament in Bangkok and made it to the 1/16 finals.
Rafael was stronger than Venezuelan Diego Pereira in a very hard fight and won with the score 3-2. Rafael's next opponent is 28-year-old Lithuanian Robertas Liorankas, who defeated the Vietnamese today (5-0). That fight will take place on 27 May.
Sebastian Terteryan of Denmark is also coming off a win. He and Rafael may meet at the 1/4 final stage.
