Day 7 results. Olympic boxing qualification in Bangkok


The seventh day of the Second Olympic Boxing Licensing Tournament took place in Bangkok on 30 May. On the seventh day of the tournament 62 fights were held - in 57 among women, as well as in 51 kg, 57 kg, 80 kg and 92 kg among men.

Baregham Harutyunyan (51kg), Artur Bazeyan (57kg), Rafael Hovhannisyan (80kg) and Narek Manasyan (92kg) performed in the Armenian national team. Hovhannesyan and Manasyan won.

Baregham Harutyunyan (51kg) lost to 23-year-old Chinese Liu Chaun by unanimous decision of the judges.

Artur Bazeyan (57kg) lost 1-4 to Carlo Paalam of the Philippines.

Rafael Hovhannisyan (80 kg) defeated Japanese Go Wakai 3-2 in a very tense fight and made it to the 1/4 finals of the Olympic qualification.

Narek Manasyan (92 kg) very confidently defeated Macedonian Boban Ilioski and made it to the 1/8 finals of the Olympic qualification.

51 kg, Round of 32:

In the 51 kg weight category, there are 4 Olympic quotas up for grabs. On May 30, all the Round of 32 bouts took place, and the Round of 16 will be held on May 31. The quotas will be contested on June 2 during the quarterfinal stage.

In the men's 57 kg category, there are only 3 quotas, so the licenses will be determined at the semifinal stage, and one more quota will be awarded to the winner among the semifinal losers. The quota bouts will take place on June 1 and 2.

In this weight class, there are 4 quotas, so the tournament will conclude at the quarterfinal stage, with all quarterfinal winners securing Olympic quotas.
